Description
Spend a summer in Tianjin, near Beijing, at Nankai University, one of
China’s top universities. This program integrates intensive language study
with cultural experiences. Offered by Asian Languages and Literatures.

Curriculum
Take Chinese language at the second or third year levels, depending on
proficiency, and complete a full academic year curriculum in a summer.
Chinese fine arts courses also available. Instruction in Chinese by Chinese
faculty. Typical credits: 10 for summer.

Estimated Cost
2001?02: $3,500. Cost includes tuition, fees, housing, some meals, field
trips. Airfare, some meals, personal expenses additional.

Eligibility & Application
Open to freshmen and above and graduate students; 2.5 GPA, 1 year
college-level Mandarin Chinese, and serious interest in improving Chinese
skills required. Applications reviewed until early March deadline.
