Information about Chinese Placement Tests
All students have to take a placement test unless s/he has previously completed Chinese classes at the University of Minnesota. The schedule for the placement tests is as follows:
For Summer 2009:For Fall 2009:
Wednesday, September 2, 3:00-5:00, in 444 Folwell Hall
Thursday, September 10, 3:00-5:00, in 444 Folwell Hall
For Spring 2009:
Time: Thursday, January 15, 3:00-5:00
Place: 444 Folwell Hall
If you want to prepare for the test, please take a look at Integrated Chinese. These books are available at the University Bookstore in Coffman Union. You will be tested on listening, speaking, grammar and reading comprehension.

study: Integrated Chinese, Level One, Part One.

study: Integrated Chinese, Level One, Part Two.

study: Integrated Chinese, Level Two, Lessons 1-10.

The placement test paper for this course will not be based on a specific textbook.
Instead, it will test the students' proficiency of the Chinese language.
